The Gwinnett Convention and Visitors Bureau’s Tourism Ambassadors are trained volunteers, capable of
interacting with visitors and conveying a high level of hospitality throughout the county. If you are a
people person who would enjoy volunteering in the hospitality community, we would like you to apply
to become one of our fun loving, hard working team.
Volunteers are required to attend all six parts of the GCVB’s Gwinnett Tourism Awareness Program
• Four two-hour sessions of classroom training on Gwinnett’s attractions, shopping, sports, special
event facilities, historic downtowns, history, government, parks and recreation
• A two-hour backstage tour of Gwinnett Center; including the arena, convention center and
performing arts center
• All day familiarization tour of Gwinnett County
• Upon completion of the classroom training, Gwinnett Center tour and the familiarization tour;
program participants will receive certification as a GCTS – “Gwinnett Certified Tourism
The program is offered FREE to qualified Tourism Ambassador Candidates. Once certified, Tourism
Ambassadors’ duties can include assisting with conventions, family reunions, festivals, and hospitality
related meetings. This program also comes with many perks, such as a backstage tour of the Arena and a motor tour of Gwinnett. To find out more information, see the GCVB website for more details.
